Grand Junction KOA Holiday

The scenery on our way Grand Junction was beautiful.  I was able to get a lot of nice photos from the passenger’s seat of our truck.

We stayed one night, October 21, at the Grand Junction KOA Holiday, site D9, a full hook up 50/30 amp Pull-Thru.  They have 32 of these spots, there are 6 Deluxe Patio, 6 Pull-Thru water/electric 50/30 amp, 10 Back In Full Hook-up 30 amp, 11 Back In Full Hook-up 50/30 amp, 3 tent sites, 1 Deluxe Lodge that sleeps 8, 2 Deluxe Studio that sleeps 4, 5 Camping Cabins that sleeps 4 and 1 Camping Cabin that sleeps 6. They have a movie theater (do not know what that looks like), a playground, mini golf, dog run, game room, and pool. They do have Wi-fi with different options and you are given a passcode for each device.  The restrooms were separate from the showers and both of which were clean, but on the older side. The laundry area had 8 top loading washers that cost $2 per load, 2 of the machines were out of order. There were 9 dryers, 1 of which was out of order, cost was 25 cents for 10 minutes.

On our way out of town we stopped for lunch at Thai Smile. A complimentary bowl of soup comes with your meal.  We shared an order of the Drunken Noodles (Stir fried large rice noodles with garlic, eggs, bamboo, onion, broccoli, carrots, string beans, red bell peppers brown sauce and fresh basil leaves) – $8.50 and Chad also had a bowl of the Tom Yum (Thai herbs soup with chili paste, mushrooms, tomatoes, lime juice, fish sauce, scallions and cilantro) -$5.50. The food was good and so was the service.

There were some local attractions that we were unable to see since we were in the area such a short time. There is the Colorado National Monument, Grand Mesa, Old Spanish Trail, Riverfront Trail, Bananas Fun Park, Highline Lake, wineries, hiking, biking and ATV trails, summer Farmer’s Market, golf courses, and museums.
